Today was my "Ride your Age Birthday Ride." Kimberly, Nancy, Erica and I met at the zoo to ride the 70 miles on the trail. We rode to Verdae then headed north. We ran into Elizabeth from the Swamp ROMP in TR. We made a pit stop at the Sunoco after turning around at the north end, then continued South. Erica was really struggling to keep up at stopped at the Commons. We rode back to Verdae then turned north again. We ran into Erica by the falls and rode to Hampton Station for a taco at White Duck Taco, but Due South Roasters was closed for the week. Erica headed for home after that while we headed to the north end again. Nancy was doing a lot of pulling as my legs were toast! We turned back knowing that we would be pushing 71 miles by the time we made it back to the car. We made it back about 10 minutes before sunset, but the temps were already dropping. I don't think that I would have finished the ride without Nancy and Kimberly.
